Three Things to Remember: #TuesdayEdition
Good Morning to our awesome online community! I hope you’re having an amazing week so far! Thank you all who joined us on the prayer line this morning. Remember that we pray EVERY Tuesday morning at 6:00 Eastern! We would absolutely love to have you join us!
On Sunday, I continued our “Walking Under an Open Heaven” series, and I talked about the finished work of Jesus. If you missed the sermon, no worries! The video will be at the bottom of this post.
Our focal scripture for this series is I Corinthians 2:9 which states:
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
Here are three things to remember as we continue to walk with Jesus this week:
- The victory has already been won, and the work is already finished. So many times, we wonder “if” God is going to do what we ask, but we must remember that Jesus already finished the work on the cross. He already took care of our healing, deliverance, blessings, and anything else we could ever ask or think of. We just have to believe Him, trust Him and wait for the manifestation. So then, why do we pray? Why do we ask? We pray and ask because the Bible commands us to. James 4:2 says that “We have not because we ask not.” Let’s make that live. If someone has cooked for you, and they tell you that they cooked, you still have to do your part. You have to ask them when you can come and get your plate. You have to take steps to get what has already been given to you. The same thing applies to our walk with Jesus. Although He has already handled everything on the cross, we still have to do our part to make sure that we are in position to receive what He has given!
- The enemy seeks to control you and keep you where you are, but he gets no victory! Any time you make a move for God, you can be assured that the enemy is going to come and try to take you backwards. He is going to bring up an old situation, he’ll try to push your buttons, he’ll try to surround you with negative people saying negative things – he will do whatever he can to try to keep you from moving forward in God. But, you have to remember that he has NO VICTORY! When you see him coming, recognize him for who he is and keep going forward in Jesus! You don’t have to entertain the devil. You don’t even have to acknowledge what he’s doing. Just keep your focus on the finished work of Jesus and walk under an open heaven towards the manifestation of what God has promised!
- God will cause you to change your posture. A lot of times, we find ourselves with a bowed down head because of what we are going through, mistakes we have made, etc. We hear things that trouble our spirits, we see the trouble and calamity on the news, we think about the condition of this world, and it can really cause us to hang our heads. However, an encounter with God will change your posture. Psalm 3:1-3 says, “Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.” As a child of God, even when you feel like you have a reason to walk around with a bowed down head, the fact that you are a child of God should automatically cause you to hold your head up high!
As you walk with Jesus this week, remember these things! Come back to this post (or any of our other posts) if you need encouragement along the way. Remember that we have Bible Study every Wednesday evening at 7:00. We would love to see you at Greater!
