Three Things to Remember: #Friday Edition (1.27.17)
Good Morning to our awesome Online Community!
I pray you all have had an amazing week, and I know you are looking forward to having an amazing weekend! God is so good to us! As you know, I believe that it is important to reinforce and rehearse the word of God over and over throughout the week. The bible tells us that we should not just be hearers of the word, but we should also be DOERS of the word (James 1:22) – and we are going to be people who know how to not only listen to the word, but apply it to our lives so that we may continue to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
With that being said, here are your three things to remember for today!
1.) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Because we know that Jesus is the same, we do not have to wonder whether or not the promises He made us are still good. Everything He said to His disciples during the time He walked the earth applies to His disciples who walk the earth today – the promises AND the commandments!
2.) “It is finished” means that IT IS FINISHED! There is nothing else that has to be done. Jesus doesn’t have to come back down out of Heaven and win the victory again. What Jesus did on the cross was and is a FINISHED work. We have to understand that the rest of this walk is about us walking out the plan and path that Jesus left for us to follow. We are His examples, and we are required to walk as He walked and to live as He lived. We will not always make the mark, but that doesn’t mean that we should not strive to consistently hit it!
3.) We can rest in the finished work. Say these words: “I’m resting in the finished work.” When you rest in the finished work, you do not worry. You do not allow what you see going on in the world to cause you to take your eyes off Jesus. You know that despite how it may feel at times, the victory has been won, completely.
You should be giving Jesus the biggest smile right now! Go through this weekend KNOWING that it is a done deal! Everything that needs to be done on your behalf is already done.
God has given me an awesome word to release on Sunday, and I would absolutely love to see you at Greater! Service starts at 10:00, and we are going to be with God for 75 minutes of power! Awesome praise and worship and a power-packed word of empowerment! Be my special guest, and be sure to let me know that you stopped by to hang out with us! I’ll be back next week with more of what God is speaking, but until then, don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything! If you have a prayer request, click here to submit it.
